This past weekend I decided to head down to Cramond to test out my beautiful new camera, but importantly I wanted to get used to my walking boots once again, before training commences for the EY Foundation trek in Spain!
I headed out around 1pm, which was perfect timing for the low winter sun. Unlike the days before, the wind wasn’t too wild, so I managed to nab some calm, still photos of the river.
Though it was baltic (very cold), the promenade was filled with tourists, locals, dog walkers and runners. It’s one of my favourite spots in the Edinburgh vicinity and apparently I’m not alone! The views out across to the Forth bridges and the snowy hills in Fife are beautiful.
I wasn’t at the right tide timing for the Cramond Island crossing, as per usual, however one day when I am more organised I will get across there! I was only out for a couple of hours on a leisurely wander, but got some stunning photos though, and played around with my camera settings. Importantly though I got my boots on, which is always the first step to getting back in to hillwalking when you’ve had a slump, even if it is a flat walk!
Below are some more photos for you to browse through, but look out for some hill and mountain posts coming up as I train for Los Tres Picos 2017; three peaks in three days will require a lot of training (and therefore lots to write about!). So sign up via email at the bottom of the article and you’ll be kept up to date with my new posts!
